Meat Market
Reviewed by Ray Z Rivers
The Vibe is a walk on the wild side.
My wife and I may have been the only ‘straight folks’ in the audience of this play. It is raw, and the language and subject matter are as to be expected, given the title. But Rhys Bernier delivers a credible performance as a young man agonizing over his sexuality and swiping through the pages of ‘Findr’ (the meat market) searching for the happiness he’ll never find there.
The play is revealing and eye-opening, exposing a world many of us only hear about. But that doesn’t mean it is unimportant. There was a decent-sized audience in attendance, and the play received a standing ovation.
The topic may not appeal to everyone, but everyone could benefit from its informative value alone. It’s worth seeing.
