This land is part of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant — an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources of the Great Lakes region. It is also covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, signed between the British Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

We recognize our responsibility to learn more about the rich histories and ongoing contributions of Indigenous communities, so we can better honour our roles as residents, neighbours, partners, and caretakers of this land.
