Ditch the Car and Really Discover King Street

For one day, King Street East trades cars for community.

Open Streets Hamilton returns Sunday, September 27 from 10 am to 4 pm, closing 3.6 km of road from John Street to Gage Avenue for walking, biking, rolling, and play.

Wander at your own pace, discover nine activation hubs packed with music, sport, food, and local makers, and see the street the way it was always meant to be experienced, on foot and by bike.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, The Westdale is showing two free film screenings on Wednesday, September 30. 

AKI (Anishinaabemowin for “earth” or “land”), will play at 4:30pm, and is a meditative, visually immersive documentary set in Atikameksheng Anishnawbek in Northern Ontario. Presented in Anishinaabemowin with English subtitles.

Blood Lines plays at 7:00pm, and is a lesbian romance film celebrating Métis culture, presented in English and Michif with English subtitles.
