TILT
Reviewed by Bryan Boodhoo
The vibe of TILT is playful.
TILT is split into two parts, which is explained to the audience at the beginning of the show. The first part is a scripted romance. The second half is an improvisation based on a prompt that the audience chooses at the beginning of the play by stage manager, Georgia Priestley Brown. At my show, the audience picked that the big reveal that one of the two lovers is actually the ghost of Christmas past. To add to the fun various guest performers are invited to join the troop for the second half.
Alex Rioux and Jean-Michel Cliche do a good job as actors in the first half, but their real gift is improvising with others on stage. They are highly talented, and they interact with the audience and the guest performers well, even when things didn’t exactly go according to plan. There is a lot of talent on stage. They managed to bring everything together in the end, to find a very meaningful ending.
This show is recommended for anyone who likes comedy or improv.
