The Last Hornblower

The vibe of The Last Hornblower is…heartfelt.
Eric Bronson’s monologue starts in a small hospice room, and expands from there to touch on legends of Italian soccer, lessons in aviation history, and mythical tales of Norse gods, without ever losing touch with its core story of fathers and sons.
Some subtle mime and deft use of the minimal set and costumes help to bring the story alive. At times you may wonder where he’s going, but it all ties together in the end and is an effective piece of storytelling.
