The Vibe of Rats! Another Musical? is hysterically unconventional! With a cast of eight, split evenly between men and women, this is a must-see show that maybe, just maybe, will convince you that not all musicals suck because this is no ordinary, run-of-the-mill musical.

Each night this troupe performs a one-of-a-kind, totally improvised musical comedy. But the show can’t start without the help of audience members who are asked to answer a simple question like, what’s an unusual job?

Saturday night’s performance pit travelling typewriter sales people who ride unicycles and write poetry against big tech bros driving expensive cars, indulging in expensive coffees and endless beer, but who abandoned their dreams just to make lots of money. And, just like every good musical, there’s romance, dancing and brilliant jokes.

This troupe has a chemistry that is palpable. They’re able to seamlessly hand the lead over to one another while morphing from one scene to the next without dropping the ball. Every once in a while, you catch them testing one another by introducing off beat ideas as they travel on this breakneck musical journey.These performers are quick witted, adaptable and full of energy. 

Shout out to Kristi Boulton – who is also performing her solo show, Felt Cute, Might Overshare Later – for intuitively knowing when to add brilliant sound effects. Kara Austria added some fancy footwork while Arielle Zamora belted out great lyrics and Katie Mills, reminiscent of Rosie O’Donnel in her prime, played a great bro.

Rats! Another Musical? had the audience roaring with laughter before jumping to their feet to give these performers an extended, and well-deserved, standing ovation.
