The vibe of Medically Strange is Hallelujah!!! Yes Hallelujah that somebody has pinpointed what it’s like to go to a medical professional as a woman living in a patriarchy. So yes, it’s about Medicine. The strange part is probably about Phoebe Taylor herself, who shares it all stand-up comedy style in pink knee pads and short shorts.
She handles the tech. herself with a little audience participation and simultaneously roasts the medical profession for sidelining and minimizing women. But don’t worry men; there are lessons here for you too. It turns out men don’t live as long. Why? They don’t go to the Dr. when they should!
YES, the audience laughed uproariously at that one because it’s true. Taylor is a master at sharing and delivering these hilarious truths.
She’s zany, energetic, funny, and honest and if you are lucky she’ll call you on stage to be a part of the show but if you’re a Doctor, I’d lay low on that one.
Great night of laughs and energy! She’s strange and so is our medical system.
