LOVE & CRAÍC
Reviewed by Doreen Nicoll
The vibe of Love & Craic is hilarious story telling at it’s very best!
Carlyn Rhamey is without a doubt a brilliant storyteller who had audience members laughing, crying and encouraging her to work on her RBF – resting b*tch face.
Be prepared to transported from London (ON) to some very interesting, and often isolated, places in Ireland and Scotland as Carlyn ventures out on her own discovering along the way the one thing all women are seeking and eventually come to understand, that Carlyn is enough just as she is.
Reigning in rogue underpants, getting lost – a lot, finding friendship and companionship, hearing about Viking ghosts, seeing ancient graffiti, learning about a handsome rebel prince, and meeting actor, director and Canadian theatre giant Martha Henry on the Isle of Sky means there is never a dull moment.
Of course there’s stories about the red-light district in Amsterdam, handsome men and long-distance relationships. But it’s the stories about the strengths and triumphs of Irish and Scottish women, those tales that go untold, and unrecorded in mainstream history books, that Carlyn is keeping alive by weaving them into her brilliantly hilarious one-hour show!
This is a show that must be seen by young women, older women and all men. And, a final word of advice for Carlyn, Mr. Darcy did not deserve you and you know that you are far, far better off without him.
With only six more performances or Love and Craic get onto your computer right now and buy tickets to this brilliant show that will have you laughing, crying, homesick and giving this extremely funny woman a standing ovation.
And, no I’m not going to tell you what craic (crack) means, you’re going to have to see Love and Craic for yourself in order to find that out. And, it will be worth every cent!
