It’s a Live Mixtape

The vibe of It’s A Live Mixtape is funky.
This show is more of a concert than a play. I felt like I was in a concert, and it was very enjoyable.
The first half of the show is filled by Palestinian hip hop artist Tarek Funk, who gives a lively, uncensored performance. His lyrics are filled with politics and awareness of global and personal issues. And it is really easy to bop along to his verbal stylings.
The second half has Gambian Electro-Mande-Soul signer Eye-Sha. She really has a great voice, and she knows how to command a stage.
The two performances are held together by DJ Onglish, Brett Klassen, who keeps the energy going throughout. The video projections in the background added to the concert feel of the piece.
This piece is unique, energetic and fun. You are unlikely to see anything else like it at Fringe. It is recommended for anyone who likes rap or soul, or just wants to hear a good beat, and who likes to think while being entertained.
